Thank you for considering White Glove. Years ago I was disgusted with the cleaners I had hired for my home, but my concerns were ignored. It was impossible to speak to anyone in charge. That was the incentive to start my own business with the promise that I would not only oversee day-to-day operations, but also I would always be available to my customers.
I'm one of those "if you can't do something right, don't do it at all" people. Having been very successful in our original market, we are spreading our methodology to other areas as we recruit hard-working and honest people personally dedicated to White Glove's ideals. Please count on White Glove because we refuse to lose a customer because of poor service. This is my commitment and my promise.
Customer Satisfaction Says It All I started the business in mid-2005 and the only advertising we did was to distribute 3,000 doorknob flyers. I remember this quite well because the company that distributed the flyers was surprised at the small amount since most businesses distribute a minimum of at least 10,000! We know of no customer who has stopped our service because of dissatisfaction.
Why Some Customers Switched to White Glove
One common reason people call us is that they are not happy with their current housekeeper or cleaning service, and they have been referred to us by one of our customers.
Here are the most frequent reasons for being disappointed with their cleaners:
-
Don't show up, or perhaps have just disappeared and not answering their telephone
-
Poor quality of work and/or failing to clean
-
Cannot or will not communicate
-
Work requests are ignored
When inspecting a home with a new customer, here are the most frequent things that I have noticed that have been overlooked by previous cleaners:
-
Obvious and removable marks on walls, doors, and baseboards
-
Buildup along baseboards and in hard-to-reach places where a vacuum doesn't reach
-
Area behind toilets not cleaned
-
Intake vents clogged with dust
-
Blinds untouched or excessively dusty
Our Employee Search Speaks of Our Standards
We are always advertising for house cleaners as our business grows, but once we inform candidates about our quality standards, over 90% of them never get back to us. Some time ago, I decided to contact some of these people and ask them to help us to understand the reason.
Well, I can tell you that though no one was specific about it, I know that our high standards of honesty and appearance had something to do with it.
But, I mention this because I want to tell you something very interesting that I had not thought about. Basically, it seems, that we, as I like to say, take cleaning seriously, but it seems that not everyone does. Two people, both with experience, told me that they felt that White Glove's work expectations were more than what they were used to; they didn't need to really perform in their previous cleaning jobs.
It's been my experience that too many people think that house cleaning means a quick vacuum and some light dusting. Maybe that's why some people think that since they have cleaned their own houses, they're qualified to work for a professional cleaning service!
In any event, we're proud of each and every one associated with White Glove Residential Services because they share our work ethic along with a genuine concern for the customer.
